We hear about it all the time come Pride Month. It seems that every single brand slaps a rainbow logo on their social media and comes out with exclusive Pride products to seem inclusive. Some argue that it’s better than nothing but these days, brands need to put their money where their mouths are and not just do these performative actions. One brand, in particular, that’s making a splash and really going the extra mile is skincare brand, Aesop with the Queer Library.
The brand just launched their Queer Library and it’s only happening at three Aesop stores around the world: Toronto’s Queen West location, New York’s Bleeker Street location and Los Angeles.

The Aesop Queer Library
The Aesop Queer Library is on from June 21 until the 27th, and the brand’s store on Queen West is clearing out the Aesop products from the shelves and replacing them entirely with books written by LGBTQ2S+ fiction, nonfiction and poetry authors.
To support independent traders, 3,000 books were purchased from Queer bookstores like Glad Day Bookshop here in Toronto and Women & Children First in Chicago. Plus, Random House donated 2,350 books as well.
Each person who enters the store will be invited to take home a book of their choice and no purchase is required. This is the perfect time to explore Queen West, pop into Aesop and immerse yourself in the spirit of Pride.
