The brunch scene in The 6ix is always booming, with more and more places popping up. The latest to join is The Kettle, which specializes in “halal Indian Canadian food”. The restaurant, located at 685 Queen Street West, blends both cultures to create an eclectic menu, with a varying range of dishes. This includes the Canadian-Indian brunch offering, which contains both sweet and savoury items.

One of the things that the restaurant aims to highlight are some of the street foods that can be found in India. One such item is chaat, which is type of a snack that can be prepared with different fillings and flavours. The menu contains Mumbai Bhel (puffed rice, tomato, onion, chili and coriander), Pani Puri (crispy puris with sprout, potato and flavoured water), Samosa Chaat and more.
Going into the brunch portion, you can indulge in classics from both parts of the world. French Toast with Gulab Jamun (rose water berry), Avocado Toast, Uthappam (crepe-like dish made from rice batter) are some of the available dishes. Brunch is served on the weekends from 11am-3pm.
Looking for something with a twist? The Butter Chicken Burger might do just the trick. There’s also the Khow Suey, which is a mix of Indian and Burmese culinary styles. These are just a few of dishes you can find, additionally with other mains, burgers, meat & vegetable pies, and desserts.
