Toronto is no stranger to the exciting world of pop-ups. Temporary and immersive experiences are more popular than ever and it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon. From hidden alleyways and speakeasy areas to trendy neighbourhoods, pop-ups have become associated with being incredibly creative. Whether it’s a pop-up art gallery, an outdoor food market, or a limited-time fashion boutique, these pop-ups provide a platform for vendors to engage with people and spread the word about their brands. The concepts are often unique, including one where you pay with…social media posts?
About MilkUP’s post-to-pay pop-up
If the name MilkUP sounds familiar, they’re behind Pick-Me-Ups and Big Moo’d Market. This year, the team is back to showcase the Moo’seum of Modern Milk to Torontonians, starting from June 9 to July 2.
The immersive world has been developed by various local artists and makers. It’s essentially intended to be a celebration of all things dairy. Visitors can find this at Five Brock Gallery, which is in Parkdale. You will also be able to check out free interactive installations, custom art and of course, a whole range of dairy treats and culinary items.
Here’s a look at all the vendors who will be participating in the pop-up:
- Breadhead Bakery: Known for its baked goods like croissants, pies and tiramisu.
- Good Behaviour: Sandwiches and ice cream
- Happy Coffee and Wine: Coffee, food and selection of wines
- Kimi Komo: Korean-Canadian illustrator & artist
- Trevor Wheatley: Multi-media artist
- Drake Cereal: Sign painter and illustrator
How it works:
- Make sure you’re following @milkupontario on social media channels (TikTok or Instagram)
- Sample the free limited-edition treats, custom art and interactive installations
- Post to pay on Instagram or TikTok using #MilkUPmooseum and you also have to tag @milkupontario on each of the posts on your page
The opening weekend is June 9-11. The MilkUP’s post-to-pay pop-up will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 12-6 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am to 5 pm.
