In a market that is increasingly saturated with sneakers of every shape and colour, it’s easy for a brand to get lost in the crowd. Enter Mallet London, a UK-based brand, looking to bring their original designs to the Canadian market with an exclusive lineup at none other than Harry Rosen.

Sneakers in Canada
In conversation with Tommy Mallet, Creative Director and Co-Founder of Mallet London, it was evident this is a passion project that goes beyond simply selling a sneaker. The hustler turned entrepreneur founded the brand in 2015 with no formal design experience and no business background.

“I started sketching and found myself pouring out ideas of a quality sneaker with a cool design that I could afford”. That cool design has yielded incredible results with distributions in 145 stores across the US, UK, Europe, Australia, UAE, South Africa, and now Canada.
On why Canada was the next logical spot for expansion, Mallet references the dynamic and vibrant fashion culture that continues its explosive growth. “I follow a lot of Canadian influencers in the fashion and music space…I’m fascinated by the sprawling landscape, multiculturalism and the different styles and characteristics of each region”.

He also went on to say, “and for my shorter gents, they’ve got you covered too, this design is boasting a decent unassuming heel that gives you a nice height “boost” without the look of one. What’s Next for Mallet London?
Mallet references further expansion is on the horizon. The brand is looking to grow its clothing line and include a new kids line to its offering. Commenting on where Mallet gets his inspiration for the kids line, he references being a new father, “As a new dad this one is particularly exciting for me. Experimenting with new materials and designs is always a top priority”.
