We’re onto the second week of the formidable fete that is TIFF 2013. The annual Toronto International Film Festival has turned all worldwide eyes on our city – take that G20! – and while we try to weasel our way into A-list parties, there’s a host of shindigs that the average civilian can (and should) attend. Here are some of the TIFF 2013 parties on this week…
Monday, September 9th
Empire of Dirt’s official premiere party is open to public. That’s right… it’s got TIFF 2013 rising star Cara Gee, and the soiree’s goin’ down at C Lounge with music by Jed Harper.
The Coveteur and Thomas Neary are presenting Brendan Fallis and Theopilus London at EFS tonight. Best part? Extended 4am liquor license, b*tches! Gotta love TIFF 2013’s enabling of alcoholism…
Grolsch Open House winds down tonight with Grounders and Julie Fader. This TIFF 2013 pop-up venue has been a haven of Dutch beer, music, food, and film throughout the fest’s first weekend. (Get a peek as to what to expect here.)
Tuesday, September 10th
Okay, so it may not be a TIFF 2013 party, but it does boast some hoity-toity star power… Al Pacino is in town at Massey Hall for Pacino One Night Only. Get up-close and personal with the powerhouse actor as he recounts his legendary career on stage.
Wednesday, September 11th
Fashion Meets Film for TIFF 2013 at the Thompson Hotel on Wednesday night as part of It’s All Style To Me‘s party series.
Friday, September 13th
In case you haven’t noticed yet, TIFF 2013 pretty much works as a 4am liquor license excuse for “hospitality partners” in the Entertainment District. Maison Mercer is going uber-late on Friday night as they present Jerome Isma-ae alongside Kasel, Saad Ayub and Papercut.
DJ Mark Knight will be spinning over at Cinema Nightclub on Friday night as part of UNIQ’s TIFF 2013 lineup.
Saturday, September 14th
Cinema Nightclub has a 4am extended liquor license for Neon Carnival, the one-year anniversary party of Sex, Lies, Video Saturdays.
COBRA sees Saeed Younan bustin’ beats as part of its TIFF party lineup on the eve of the fest’s final day.
