If there is anything in excess in Toronto, it’s “Mexican Restaurants”, but they don’t all quite live up to our VIBE standards. So just in time for your National Margarita Day celebrations tonight, we put together this list of our Top Mexican VIBES in The 6ix.
Celebrate National Margarita Day, or any day for that matter, with the Best Mexican VIBES in The 6ix:
1. El Catrin in The Distillery District
Without a doubt, El Catrin is hands down one of our favourite Mexican hotspots. But the lineups speak for themselves. Rain or shine, hot or cold, whether it’s in the hot patio days, the Holiday season or cold winter days and nights, this place is always booming. From the tunes, sometimes live music, ambiance, and delicious eats, they have the VIBE down packed. If you’re lookin’ for the just right Margarita, go for one with Casamigos tequila (yes the one owned by George Clooney). It’s delish! To wash down some of the cheesy Alambre Tacos of course.
2. Colibri at Assembly Chef’s Hall
Assembly Chef’s Hall is like the hotspot for Celebrations. I mean, from their wide selection on tap, to the variety of restaurants in house, we couldn’t think of a better way. But if you’re going to head there for National Margarita Day, make sure to grab on of their Tromba Margaritas, to wash down the delicious Mexican eats from Colibri. Their wide selection of tacos and more will have you begging your server for more.
3. Carlotta Bar at The Beverley Hotel
We recently got to check out Carlotta Bar and were blown away. Great vibes, ambiance, and location too. Their Aguamiel Margaritas are out of this world! But make sure to grab some of the Octopus Tostadas too. Some of the best I have ever had! So bring out the posy, have your best looks on, and be prepared to snap some pics because this place is definitely #Instaworthy.
4. Baro on King West
This King West gem is definitely one of the best restaurant VIBES in the city. Baro checks off all the boxes for sure! Their cocktail menu is quite impressive, and extensive, but in honour of the special day, their Cazadores Reposado Margaritas are in order. But don’t go too hard down there because if you’re lucky, and you’re nice to your server… you can ask them for the passcode to get into their secret bar, Escobar on the upper floor. The VIBES up there are epic, and worthy the challenge to get in.
5. La Carnita on John St.
Definitely one of my favourite locations of them all — as they now have 6 locations across the city. With some many others closing down, they must be doing something right! Well I have to admit, I can’t go in without always having some Miami Cut Carne Asada, a Tuna Tartare Tostada, and several of their delicious Taco assortment. But why stop there? Especially on National Margarita Day! Wash it all up with some drinks of course. Their Carnita Margarita is on point (also made with Cazadores, but with Blanco, not Reposado)!
What you waiting for? Like we say in Spanish, “Buen provecho”. 😉
