What does one need to enjoy the Canada Day Long Weekend? Well, warm summer nights are a given, so being outdoors is a good idea. Music is essential both for recalling good old summer memories and for creating even better ones. And what is any weekend, long or otherwise, without the presence of beer? If you enjoy all of the aforementioned and are looking for something to do on the important dates of the 29th and 30th, look no further than the Digital Dreams Music Festival. The event is being held at The Flats at Molson Amphitheatre (Ontario Place), so you even get to miss out on getting stuck in bumper-to-bumper, cottage traffic – bonus!
Check out our quick round-up of just a few of the bodacious acts you can expect to see over the two-day, dance bonanza.

World famous DJ Mr. Van Dyk is kind of a big deal on the electronic music scene. He has sold over 3 million albums worldwide and travels around the world over 16 times each year to play at sold-out performances. There is sure to be a packed crowd for this one so get there early to secure a spot near the front.
Tiesto | Sunday, June 30th | 10:30pm to 12am
Voted ‘The Greatest DJ of All Time’ by dance mag Mixmag in 2011, Tiesto is another big name coming to the T-Dot for the long weekend event. Massive into online banter, he boasts 13 million friends on Facebook and 1.5 million followers on Twitter so be prepared to sharpen your elbows if you’re planning on dancing over to see this popular fellow.
Dubfire | Sunday, June 30th | 10:30pm to 12am
Known as somewhat of a pioneer and a risk-taker in the world of electronic music, Grammy Award winner Dubfire delivers seamless DJ sets with a unique sound. He’s been in the biz for over 20 years so he knows his stuff. You can be confident that this show won’t disappoint.
Steve Lawler | Sunday, June 30th | 9pm to 10:30pm
This well-known, multi-talented Brit may find it difficult to stay within his time slot as he’s been known to play to a crowd from the minute the doors open until it’s time to kick everyone out. This guy is kind of a legend. He used to organize illegal raves in the early ’90s underneath a highway in the UK, so I’d expect that this is going to be quite the party.
Luciano | Saturday, June 29th | 9pm to 10.30pm
This Swiss-Chilean DJ is dedicated to creating innovative music and performances which has led him to become one of the biggest global stars of the electronic music scene. He’s pretty easy on the eyes, too, so try your best to focus on the beats…
