Welcome to the Prosecco DOC Dreamland – the Prime Italian Sparkling Wine District known and loved by so many of us all over the world! With over two thousand years of bubbly, this is the wonderful story called Prosecco.
It is in North East Italy where beautiful vineyards have grown the Glera grapes ever since the times of the Roman. Vines are planted on the sunny slopes in Veneto and Friuli-Venezia Giulia region and grow facing towards the sea, sheltered from the cold winds of the Bora growing between the Dolomites and the Adriatic Sea.
According to strict regulations, Prosecco is made from vines from grapes of the indigenous italian grape variety called Glera. Each bottle must be made with at least 85% of Glera, however many Prosecco DOC are pure with 100% Glera grapes.
