Welcome to a wine country that is a wine lover’s paradise! When it comes to full-bodied and elegant wines this region is a must stop-shop for any enthusiast. Many of us know Seattle as a wet and rainy city, but take a drive east past the Cascade mountains and nestled at the perfect wine growing latitude of 46 degrees is Washington State wine country.
Washington State wines are hand-crafted by ambitious, talented winemakers who bring out the purest of terroir. The wines show a balance of authentic fruit expressions balanced with old world structure. From organic and biodynamic farmers to minimal intervention, growers and vintners are small family run estates who believe in giving more back to the land what is taken from it.

Columbia Crest Grand Estates Chardonnay
A fabulous rich, elegant and delicious Chardonnay perfect for this season’s pairing with buttered popcorn, a good book and a great Netflix series. Or up your dining game by pairing it with roasted chicken, chicken alfredo, grilled pork chops, lobster tails or a bianco pizza.
Wines of Substance Cabernet Sauvignon
A wine by Charles Smith – a man who was once a rock band manager and is now working in the world of wine. This Cabernet is loaded with dark berries, cassis and vanilla – exactly what any lover of red wine is looking for! Pair with braised meats, a juicy episode of Squid Game or your favourite dark chocolate.
Chateau Ste. Michelle Indian Wells Merlot 2017
When you find a Merlot you’re in love with, you’re in what I call “Merlove”. This Merlot is made by rockstar red winemaker Leah Adint and I had the wonderful chance to interview her earlier this year (you can see my winemaker interview here). This wine also has a splash of Syrah and Viongier making you truly fall in merlove!
Drumheller Cabernet Sauvignon 2018
A juicy, easy drinking and lovable wine, this Cabernet Sauvignon is ideal for the wine lover who appreciates finesse and full-body in their red wines. Pair with roast beef and a dining room full of friends for the perfect solution to harvest time entertaining.
Hedges CMS 2018
If you haven’t heard of Hedges before, give their wine a try, listen to their story and you’ll never forget them. Located on one of the smallest AVA’s in Washington State, Hedges makes wines that will leave you, your heart and your palate swooning. Winemaker Sarah Hedges farms bio-dynamically and their wines always amaze me. I also had the chance to interview her earlier this year and you can watch my interview here
Columbia Crest H3 Cabernet Sauvignon
H3 – stands for ‘Horse Heaven Hills’ a wildly awesome AVA in Washington State. The red wines from here certainly stand out and the conditions are ideal for producing wines that are pure and silky. With notes of chocolate, smoke and black fruit, you can pair this wine with romantic fireside date nights and a tomahawk steak. Juan Munoz-Oca who is the overarching winemaker for Chateau Ste Michelle is awesome and a real down-to-earth winemaker making fabulous wines. You can see my very cool interview with this amazing guy here
