Located along the centre of the world’s cool-climate wine belt, Ontario’s beautiful wine-growing appellations share similar grape-growing season characteristics with some of the most recognized and respected wine-growing regions of the world.
Ontario Wine Country is a modern, progressive and beautiful place. With unique regions, panoramic views, modern winery architecture, and a commitment to sustainable farming, there are many good reasons to fall in love with Ontario’s wines and wineries.
As a cool-climate region, the grapes we best produce are Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gamay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, and our specialty grape Baco Noir. Our sparkling wines made in the traditional champagne method taste world-class, and our Icewine – frozen grapes harvested on the vines at night – is what we are known for around the world.
This weekend – and every weekend, support VQA wines. Short for Vintners Quality Alliance, VQA wines are 100% Ontario made by your neighbours and friends. Support them as much as you can.
