Be a bronze goddess 365 days a year without escaping the 6ix. Vv Magazine’s Kate Dingwall gives us the scoop on the best spray tans in Toronto.
One of the downfalls of living in this country is the damn cold winters. By November and December, the majority of the country is cooped up inside, with the pale white skin to show it. But even if you’re not headed south this winter, your skin doesn’t have to succumb to the winter weather. To prep you for the long, cold, winter ahead of us, we’ve put together a list of the best faux-tanning salons the city has to offer that will give you a golden glow. No need to head under the tanning lamps for that unhealthy glow, every one of these salons specialises in spray tans.
Aroma Wellness Centre
Out on the Bloor West strip is the eco-centric Aroma Wellness Centre. Their spray tans are all natural (and completely vegan!) to provide you with a streak-free and guilt-free tan. Colours range from the Nicole Kidman to the Kardashian, topping off at a Halle Berry. First-time visits are $35 for a full-body tan and $45 for regular visits.
The bubbly-sweet staff at Sugarmoon and their always on-point services will keep you coming back to this spa-like salon for years. The team uses St. Tropez tanning products to provide you with a subtle glow in just fifteen minutes. Plus, they put a real stress on hygiene and are great at accommodating any allergies.
Tan on the Run
Too busy to leave the house? No worries. Tan on the Run will come to you! Book an appointment and Tan on the Run will bring their pop-up airbrush “tanning salon” straight to your home. They have formulas for every skin type – including a hypoallergenic formula for those with allergies. Best yet, they are the official tan of X-Men Apocalypse, so you know they’ve gotta be good.
Her Majesty’s Pleasure
Although HMP’s tan is on the pricier side, the full-service bar and snack selection more than makes up for it. All products used are all-natural, and the tan is applied via airbrush for a precise finish.
Real Tan offers a European-imported dry, collagen-infused spray tan that has the ability to actually moisturise your skin while providing a long-lasting colour. The chain offers two locations, one in Thornhill and one in Cityplace. They even offer a 24hr mobile spray tan, for any… tanning emergencies?
If you’re looking for a tan you can do at home, we’re obsessing over the Vita Liberata pHenomenal 2-3 week tan. Even though it will set you back $65, the light mousse provides several applications of a perfect deep gold colour, and the tanning mitt allows for an even application from the comfort of your own bathroom.
