Time to ring in the New Year, and that means, bring out the bling. While I don’t specifically mean the iced out necklaces, those are welcome too. I’m talkin’ about the sequences and sparkles. One of the only times of the year that you can pull it off — and believe us the teams at GotStye in the Distillery or Nordstrom Canada can help you do just that. But what’s the point of a smokin’ hot look, if you don’t have anywhere to showcase it — and no your aunts and uncles at Nonna’s on NYE doesn’t count. We can help — here we’ve listed some of the hottest New Year’s Eve (NYE) party VIBES in Toronto. So round up ya girls, or ya boys and get your tickets, before it’s too late.
Believe us, NYE will be here in a blink, so don’t wait — or you will end up at ur Nonna’s (that’s Italian for grandma, if you’re wondering) after all.

Make sure to plan ahead, don’t drink and drive, arrange a pickup, responsible designated driver, or take public transportation, cab, Uber or Lyft. Here’s some of the transportation options available:
TTC Public Transit — Free All Night Long
Thanks to Corby, once again the TTC will be free all night from 7pm on December 31st to 7am on January 1st.
Lyft or Uber Ride Sharing
Not prepared to take transit? No problem. Take Lyft or Uber home after the party. Whether taking an express pool, pool, or even an Uber Black, just make sure to check for surcharges, etc. If heavily intoxicated, you should reconsider the pooling options entirely.
According to Lyft, some of the top destinations last year were: Rebel, The Drake Hotel, Nathan Phillips Square, CN Tower, and the Fairmont Royal York. So if traveling to or from either of them beware of extended wait times or surcharges. Peak time for rides will be be at 1AM on January 1st.
Some more fun facts:
- 29 rides were requested at midnight on NYE 2017
- Most popular neighbourhood for pickups: Liberty Village
- Most popular neighbourhood for drop-offs: Entertainment District
Taxi Cab
Phone dead, or not willing to suck up the surcharge or wait times? Hop in a cab, especially a Beck (one of the more reputable ones out there). Stay safe, don’t just get into unmarked “cab” cars. Take a picture of the driver’s badge behind the seat when you get in (just in case anything happens), and also the rear bumper and license plate. It’s better to be precautionary, then to regret doing so after. Things happen!
Whether you make it out, host, or just stay in… make sure to snap some pics and tag @ViewtheVIBE, use #TorontoVIBE, or slip into our DMs for a chance to be featured on our social.
