Living in a big busy city, we could all use a little more time with nature. No, seriously. Since we don’t have any National Parks in the city, TD & MEC in partnership with Parkbus and Parks Canada, are providing a FREE parkbus shuttle to and from four Canadian cities to four national and provincial parks — including Rouge National Park from downtown Toronto until September 30th.
Pack your bags and your lunch Toronto, the free shuttle is operating all summer long. Hop on board the TD Rouge Express, and spend the day in the great outdoors and enjoy that much needed fresh air!
The bus is available on a first come, first serve basis, but make sure to book it online ahead of time. Boarding is available at both downtown Toronto from 30 Carlton Street (Carlton St. & Church St. – outside the Starbucks just west of the Loblaws), and from North York at the MEC located at 784 Sheppard Avenue East (across from Bessarion Subway Station). Shuttles leave from Carlton St. at 9:00 am and 11:00 am, and MEC North York at 9:30am. Returns back downtown are at 12:30pm and 4:30pm, and 3:00pm to MEC.
It’s a quick 30-45 minute ride, and so worth it. Whether you’re looking to just spend an afternoon with nature, go out on a hiking trail, or join one of the regularly scheduled Guides Tours and Trails, no doubt it will be well worth it.
But don’t wait, because before we know it… yup, fall and winter will be back upon us. So enjoy it while you still can, and don’t forget to snap some pictures and tag us and use the #TorontoVIBE hashtag for a chance to be featured.
