With Mother’s Day around the corner, we are all thinking about what an important role our moms have played in our lives, right? Well, at least I have… Since launching View the Vibe, I have been a horrendous daughter – I have not visited my mom in over 11/2 years! And she only lives in Montreal… so this year, I decided that instead of sending a traditional bouquet of flowers, I will fly to Montreal for the weekend to treat her to a fabulous Mother’s Day brunch and spend some quality mother daughter time. But where should I take her? So many options… I’m sure I will find the perfect spot – it is after all, what I do for a living!
That said, I started thinking of all the amazing brunch spots Toronto has acquired in the last 4 years and thought I would offer up some suggestions for a great place to take mom… Being that I am French, I know exactly where I would take my mom if she lived here: La Societe (www.LaSocete.ca) in Yorkville. While it seems to occasionally get a bad rap, I’ve never had a disappointing meal. Recently, my friend and well-known Toronto blogger, Valerie Stachurski, of www.ImCharmingYou.com, organized a “brunette blogger brunch” at this lovely French bistro. We were joined by five ladies with great blogs who also love great food. Check out the VLOG:

Now I do realize not everyone is a Frenchie like me… so here are a few other spots to consider:
For the classic brunch… I LOVE this place: Mildred’s Temple Kitchen in Liberty Village. The food is fresh, local and delicious. Donna Dooher, the owner and chef is quite possibly the most charming woman I’ve ever met and her love of food shines through in Mildred’s gorgeous, bright expanse. Here’s a sneak peak at her new View the Vibe video. www.TempleKitchen.com
For the buffet lover… Hush Restaurant on King Street offers a delicious brunch buffet every Sunday – but on Mother’s Day they’re making it extra special. The vibe is contemporary and comfortable with windows looking out onto the TIFF building and the very busy King Street. www.HushRestaurants.ca
Something more adventurous…. Mideastro Restaurant in Yorkville is an upscale Middle Eastern restaurant that combines the flavours of all these countries. The food is uniquely created and an ideal place to take a mom who loves exploring innovative flavours. www.Mideastro.com

A special hidden gem…. Le Kensington Bistro on Augusta Avenue – yes, it’s French… but it’s French with a twist and offers great prices in a super cozy setting. The menu features classic French dishes with experimental International cuisine. Curious? Then check them out ☺. www.LeKensingtonBistro.ca
Happy Mother’s Day from View the Vibe to all the amazing moms out there! I’m not there yet but I know it’s not an easy job!
