Toronto’s Best Cheap Food + Drink Deals

Listen up all those into budget booze (read: hopefully all of you), Toronto is loaded with hotspots this summer that are offering some pretty rad deals on your favourite drinks, and because we love you we’ve gone and scoped out the best ones so that you don’t have to. And for those of you that prefer something with a little more sustenance, we’ve got you covered, too, with everything from complimentary appetizers to half-price wings. Cheers!

Tallboys Craft Beer House
It’s easier to get through Mondays when you’ve got something to look forward to the next day. Tallboys has us covered with their Taco Tuesdays, serving tacos for only $3 each. Thanks, guys!

The Shore Club
If you’re looking to get your seafood on, The Shore Club is where it’s at with their buck-a-shuck and $2 prawn deals from 4-7pm. Oh and we can’t forget the booze…they’re doing $5 beers and $7 wines during their happy hour as well.

La Société
We love La Société for its Parisian bistro style and cuisine, and now we’ve got another reason: On Thursdays they offer oysters for $1 each. Yeah, you read that right.

Ki Modern Japanese + Bar
And, once more for the oyster lovers, Ki is featuring oysters for $2 each with a house-made chilled ponzu sauce and your choice of a $5 Sapporo or $8 Momokawa Organic Sake on Fridays on the patio.

Starfish Oyster Bed and Grill 
For the oyster obsessed, Starfish is featuring “Oysterlicious Afternoons” with mix plates for $12 and a choice of drink for $5 every weeknight from 3pm to 6pm and weekends from 12pm to 6pm… if Thursdays and Fridays aren’t enough for you…

Maison Mercer
This dynamic venue is taking full advantage of patio season by offering up a complimentary barbeque and happy hour cocktails for $3.50 every Friday. Just another one of the many reasons we love Fridays.

The Loose Moose 
The Loose Moose definitely knows how to please. Not only do they feature the largest draught beer selection in downtown Toronto, they’re now offering Caesars for $3 on Sundays – all day.

Montecito
You can’t go wrong with popping into Montecito’s brasserie during the week; they’ll be hosting a special of the day throughout the spring months. Here are some of our favourite days to take note of: Mondays are their Burger & Beer night, where you can get a pint of Steamwhistle as well as a burger and JW potatoes for $20.00. Sharing is caring on Tuesdays at Montecito, sharable carafe’d cocktails are $20. For those who can’t live without their vino, stop by for Wine Night Wednesdays for 1/2 price bottles. Swing by Thursdays for 1/2 price pizza or Friday between 5pm and 7pm for buck-a-shuck oysters and 1/2 price bottles of champagne. You’re welcome.

Luma
Starting March 28th, those heading home from the financial district should consider making a pit stop at Luma. Every Monday through Friday guzzle down Magic Hour specials including $5 Martinis and Manhattans at the bar, from 4:oopm to 8:00pm. 

Earls King Street
Let’s be real: you can always count on Earls to turn “just one drink after work” into a “night out on the town,” especially with their Happy Hour every day from 3:30pm to 6pm. If you’re looking for an afterwork wing night, head to Earls after 3pm for $6.50 Korean hot wings.

The Ballroom
This quasi bowling alley/quasi sports bar is full of happy hour events this summer. Weeknights from 4pm to 8pm, bar rail drinks are just $4. Then, their “Throwback Thursdays” offer $4 bar rail drinks, $5 Moosehead and Jagerbombs, and $3 Red Bull Editions after 9pm. Saturdays and Sundays between 12pm and 4pm they have $4 Caesars and a $9 daily breakfast sandwich special. Sunday from 4pm to close they offer $4 bar rail, $5 Jagermeister and Jack Daniels, and a $12 Tailgater Platter (2 pulled pork sliders + 2 mini hot dogs + 2 beef sliders).

The Beaconsfield 
For the foodies of Toronto, The Beaconsfield is your go-to destination this summer. They’ve got $10 daily food specials on weeknights from 5pm to 7pm with a choice of a pint of beer or glass of house wine. Mondays are classic American sliders, Tuesdays are baked spicy wings, Wednesdays are mac ‘n cheese, Thursdays are homemade poutine, and Fridays are curry beer battered fish n’ chips.

Marben Restaurant
Your choice of a draught beer, cocktail, or wine to pair with a snack for only $7.50 on weeknights from 5pm to 7pm. Snack choices include patatas bravas, ham croquetas, mini porchetta sandwiches, fish n’ chips, and tacos.

Darwin Bistro
Darwin’s got you covered every day of the week with their $6 glasses of wine and and $6 pints. And, if you need an extra kick to jump start your week, there’s also half-priced wine every Monday.

Bar Buca
This all-day Italian snack bar is the perfect place to grab a morning cappuccino or weekend brunch. We’re pretty big fans of their scrambled eggs with burrata and shaved black truffles, and now, we’re even bigger fans of their après work special: with the purchase of any drink from 4-7pm on weeknights and after 5pm on weekends, you get complimentary nibbles. This includes a rotating mix like miniature pizzas, pickled buffalo mozzarella, candied orange peel, and marcona almonds.

Crush Wine Bar
Who needs budget booze when you can get mouthwatering starters for half-price? Duck confit poutine, pork rillettes, pan-fried haloumi, and chickpea fried calamari are all ready and waiting for you on weeknights from 5pm to 7pm.

Pauper’s Pub
For martini fans, Pauper’s Pub is featuring $6 Martini Mondays. But that’s not all they’ve got to offer: $5 wine bottles and half-price starters on Tuesdays; pint specials and half-price wings all day Wednesdays; $4 premium drinks on Thursdays; $12.75 rail pitchers on Fridays and Saturdays; and half-price starters on Sundays.

Crawford Bar
For a night out with friends, we highly recommend Crawford. Not only is this bar full of DJs and performers all summer long, but they’re also offering daily drink and shot specials for $4 each, Wednesdays to Sundays after 5pm.

Crown & Dragon
This pub was judged as having the best wings in all of Toronto, and now you can get them for half-price on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. If burgers are more your thing, on Wednesdays Crown & Dragon is offering your choice of burger and pint for $13.95 after 5pm. But that’s not all! Every day of the week you can get your grubby paws on $4.50 domestic beers and half-price appetizers from 3pm to 6pm.

The Drake Hotel 
Looking for something a little lighter for the summer? The Drake Hotel is offering $8 cocktails and half-priced sushi and sashimi weeknights from 4pm to 7pm.

Pravda Vodka Bar
For those with an appreciation for vodka and Russian cuisine, Pravda is the place you need to be this summer. Their weeknight happy hour goes from 4pm to 7pm and includes a complimentary appetizer.

The Emmet Ray
If you enjoy live music and fine alcohol beverages (and who doesn’t?), The Emmet Ray has you covered with $5.50 pints daily from 5pm to 9pm and a full line-up of jazz, blues, and country music all summer long.

Prohibition Gastrohouse
Chug down your choice of $5 drinks from 4pm to 7pm and 10pm to midnight every day, including vodka, gin, bourbon, wine, beer and tequila. And if that isn’t enough for you, Prohibition is also featuring $2.43 shots all-day, every day.

McGugan’s
To help you survive Mondays, McGugan’s is offering $13.95 tacos and a pint. And if you need a boost for every other day of the week, they’ve got your back there, too. On Tuesdays score a pulled pork sandwich and pint for $13.95; same price for wings and a pint on Wednesdays; chef’s choice of fish on Fridays; $17.95 curry and a pint on Thursdays; schnitzel and a pint for $18.95 on Saturdays; and $18.95 for steak and a pint on Sundays.

Sauce on Danforth 
If you love beautiful furniture and artwork, you should check out Sauce. If you love alcoholic beverages, you should also check out Sauce. Six-buck cocktails before 6pm every day sounds like the perfect way to relax after work, but the deals don’t stop there. Every Monday to Thursday there’s also $5 pints. See you there!

Church Aperitivo Bar
Love Italian food? We do, too. That’s why we’re super stoked about Church’s complimentary appetizers with the purchase of a beverage every Tuesday to Friday from 5pm to 6:30pm. Even though the appetizers are free, they’re definitely not lacking: choose from pizza, rice balls, and crostini (or all three, we won’t judge).

Dog & Bear
So you’ve finished up at Church Aperitivo Bar and you’re still feeling peckish. Don’t fret! Head a few doors down to Dog & Bear where they offer a burger and pint for $15 on Wednesdays and fish n’ chips and pint on Fridays for the same price.

El Caballito
If you’re in need of a hump day pick-me-up, head to El Caballito for #ModeloWednesday where you can enjoy a $1 flat iron steak taco with the purchase of Modelo Especial.

The Calvin Bar
Head to the Calvin Bar during the week between 4pm and 7pm and make your cocktail a double for the price of a single. Cocktails range between $12.00 and $17.00. If you’re a seafood lover, head there on Wednesday to treat yourself to $6.00 seafood tapas and other bubbly specials.

The Caledonian
For a taste of good ol’ Scottish hospitality, Toronto’s got The Caledonian. It’s our favourite destination for deep fried Mars bars and haggis fritters, and now we’ve got yet another reason to go there: select pints are only $5 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 5pm. Pair those with their fish and chips or house-made Scottish steak pie and there’s really nothing better.

Nota Bene
With prices like these, you won’t feel guilty about sneaking in a snack before you head home for dinner. Get yourself down to Nota Bene on Queen St. West between 4pm and 7pm daily to enjoy a variety of bar snacks for only 4 bucks each.

Boehmer 
If you’re in the Ossington area looking to get your booze on while keeping your wallet in tact, head to Boehmer on Tuesday nights. You can look forward to buck-a-shuck deals, $22.00 lobsters and 1/2 price bottles of wine. The restaurant recently made Canada’s Best 100 Restaurants so you know it’s gonna be good!
