That special season is upon us again, Toronto. A month of food, family, food, festivities… did we mention food? Well, either try not to eat too much or pray that Santa leaves you some Spanx under the tree this year because after all the Christmas/ Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/ whatever celebrating is over, it’s officially prep time for the biggest party night of the year: New Year’s Eve 2014! An evening of over-spending, over-drinking (responsibly… if possible), and over-doing it in pretty much any way you and your Jaeger-addled brain can imagine, NYE by design is meant to be insanely built up and immediately forgotten. But that should not take away from the fact that it’s pretty darn fun getting dressed up and getting #RobFordWasted with the girls/boys, right? To help make sure you don’t drop the ball (pun, clearly, intended) on your NYE plans, here is our list of what we think will be the most happening places.
Thompson New Year’s
With a rooftop patio that boasts one of the best views of downtown Toronto, it would only make sense that the Thompson Hotel would also host one of the most sought-after New Year’s Eve parties. This year, party in one of four rooms: the Belvedere Vodka Room; the Moet Room; The Hennessey Cognac Room; and the Rooftop, each with their own celeb DJ. We recommend the Rooftop for those #amazeballs views of the fireworks at midnight (read: best Instagram ever).
“History” NYE 2014 at Bloke & 4th
Want to go to a supper club on New Year’s Eve that actually serves amazing, seasonal food? Let’s be real, you should probably eat something before you get crazy (note: to help soak up the crazy) so why not make it delicious? If this sounds appealing to you (aka you’re intelligent and have good taste), Bloke & 4th will be serving dinner at 7:30 before transitioning into full-blow dance mode with champagne, party favours and bottle service. If you don’t want to eat (no judgment, obvi.), there is also a “party only” ticket option as well.
Glamour and Glitz New Years Eve Gala
A classic among Torontonian NYE veterans, Glamour and Glitz brings a little bit of class, sophistication, and hype to the most buzzy night of the party calendar! Held at the International Plaza Hotel, expect lots of pretty people and a choice between two different ballrooms (each with totally different music genres), and dinner and dancing tickets or just dancing.
Casino Royal at &Company
Take your New Year’s Eve shaken and stirred and everything in between at &Company. Set to debonair elegance of Monaco, the party is spread over two rooms with separate DJs and guests can choose between going with the Celebrate Package (hors d’oeuvres, party favours, champagne toast) or the Dine & Celebrate (super yummy, super swanky four-course meal). #BondGirlWasted is so going to be the #WhiteGirlWasted of 2014, obvi.
ET Canada: New Years Eve in Niagara Falls
Canada’s largest free New Year’s Eve event (and the largest televised event in the country to… Hi Mom!), kick off 2014 by hanging out at Queen Victoria Park overlooking the falls (read: don’t fall in the pool) and catch the fireworks along with musical performances by Demi Lovato, Sam Roberts Band and Serena Ryder.
The Twelfth Hour
Party like a Trump at the Trump Tower International Hotel and Tower’s second annual Twelfth Hour NYE Party. Hosted by 57 Social, guests enjoy music, dancing and socializing in the Trump’s two-story ballroom spread out over the venue’s 9th and 10th floors. NOTE: toupee not included or required.
Check out why we’ll be at The Twelfth Hour this NYE here.

For the foodies, there is not better (and more unique) way you could ring in 2014.
