‘The Rachel’ Haircut
While this isn’t a fashion trend, ‘The Rachel’ haircut is certainly one of the biggest trends from the Friends era. Salons worldwide were inundated with requests for this iconic cut created by the legendary Chris McMillan who still does Jennifer Aniston’s hair today. While the haircut saw a lull, the layered cut is back today in full force.
Oversized Button-Down Shirt
You just can’t go wrong with an oversized button down shirt. It can be styled in so many different ways and can even be worn for a day look with jeans or a night out with heels. The ’90s were all about oversized pieces and it’s a trend that’s, thankfully, never really gone away.
Overalls
Believe it or not, overalls are back, baby! Our pals from Friends had a real thing for overalls — Phoebe, Rachel, and Monica wore them on the regular and while they fell out of fashion for a while, they’re back in full swing. Nowadays there are different cuts available so no matter your style, you can find some that suit you.
Athleisure
We’re so busy these days that wearing our gym clothes home has never been more convenient or on-trend and it’s clear that it’s a trend from Friends that we quickly caught on to. There are a few athleisure moments from the show that we’d gladly wear today including this look seen on Monica.
High-Waisted Jeans
We don’t care what you say — high-waisted jeans are not going anywhere. Of course, wear whatever denim style you like best but if Friends has shown us anything, it’s that high-waisted mom jeans should be here forever. Rock them with a cropped tee, denim shirt, or sweatshirt for all the cozy vibes.
Collegiate Sweatshirts
Speaking of sweatshirts, collegiate sweatshirts have become hugely popular again. Of course, Princess Diana definitely had a hand in creating the buzz but Friends should get some credit as well. Rock yours with biker shorts, sweats, or keep it comfy and pair with matching sweats.
Fur-Trimmed Jackets
We never thought we’d see the day but fur-trimmed jackets made a re-appearance this past fall and it’s a trend we once saw on Phoebe herself. Of course, we suggest opting for faux fur — it’s what Phoebs would have wanted!
Tie-Dye
One of the hottest trends of the past few seasons is none other than tie-dye. The popular print has been seen on everything from dresses, activewear, sweats, and t-shirts and it’s a trend that was also featured on Friends.
