We were in absolute beauty heaven last month, and it was all thanks to London Drugs. Every June, this mega BC corporation hosts their much talked about (and tweeted!) beauty extravaganza. (Revisit our coverage here.) Numerous media peeps, like us, are invited to attend and preview the latest and greatest pretty-you-up products that will be available in London Drugs stores as of the fall. After testing out the plethora of goodies given to us last month, we’ve come to the conclusion that the following five products are our top picks, and ones you that need to add to your makeup bag…
Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Enamel
We’re always on the hunt for the longest lasting nail polish for prettying up our digits. Well, we found it at the #LDBeauty event: Revlon’s new ColorStay Gel Envy Nail Enamel ($7.99). Available in 30 fabulous, long-lasting shades, your fingers will look perfect for days and days with this easy at-home 2-step system (we got a good two weeks out of our application!). Just apply two coats of the special polish, which combines base coat and colour in one convenient formula, then a coat of the ColorStay Gel Envy Diamond Top Coat ($7.99), and you’re good to go! Our fave shade? Wild Card (seen on Olivia Wilde below) – the perfect blue that makes us feel like we’re in Greece.
Philips Precision Perfect Trimmer
We won’t lie: We have some very unwanted hair on our face, and it’s kind of embarrassing. Now that we have our Philips Precision Perfect Trimmer ($14.99; available in August), our gal ‘stache and pesky chin whiskers are gone in a flash. With just a quick swipe of this portable, battery-powered super-wand we are fur free without the fear of nicking our soft skin from using a razor, or worse, getting a rash from waxing. We understand that this trimmer can also be used to gently remove hair from the bikini area. We just love a dual-purpose product!
Tweezerman Brush iQ
We have always been huge fans of the Tweezerman tweezers – they’re the best, right? Well, now Tweezerman has got us super-excited about another one of their products: their soon-to-launch makeup brushes! Each of the 12 luxury cosmetic brushes is made with DuPont Natrafil filaments, which feel soft and smooth like natural bristles but are actually more hygienic and offer better pick-up and release of makeup and a more uniform application. Tweezerman Brush iQ brushes will be available in September and retail between$24 and $85 each.
Chella Heated Lash Curler
Ladies, you are going to la-la-la-love this product! Enhance those lashes quickly and safely (no more pinching) with this heated lash-curling wand. We love that we can use it before or after applying our fave mascara, and it really offers a kickass curl to our puny lashes. At a mere $24.50, it’s a must-have for your makeup bag!
Garnier BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector Eye Roller
If you love BB creams as much as we do, you’ll be very interested about this new product. Garnier has taken their standout cooling roll-on applicator technology (used in the Garnier Ultra-Lift Anti-Wrinkle Eye Roller) and combined it with a powerful formula that includes Haloxyl, which is used to treat and reduce dark circles and under-eye bags, and mineral pigments that even out the skin tone. We loved that our eyes felt and looked less fatigued and had a brightness and sparkle to them. The Garnier BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector Eye Roller ($19.99) will be in London Drugs around the middle of July.
