Vancouver brunch aficionados can breathe easy with the latest news to land in our inbox: Café Medina will officially open the doors to its new spot at 780 Richards Street tomorrow. This marks a new beginning for Café Medina, who shifted things up and over a few blocks to a new bright, spacious, and refurbished location just around the corner from Robson Street (on Richards).
While the change of scenery brings many refinements to Café Medina – increased seating capacity, high ceilings, a proper bar and an open kitchen layout among them – the owners have gone to great lengths to migrate and preserve the same subtle touches that helped cement the popular café’s reputation as a go-to spot since 2008.
We’re pretty sure they’ll open to a lineup of curious diners given they’ve kept a few culinary secrets well under wraps with the appointment of Executive Chef Jonathan Chovancek having been made just recently; and along with that a new menu loaded with a mix of Café Medina’s trademark Mediterranean-inspired dishes and fresh new seasonal creations.

Since it opened in 2008, Café Medina has been serving up its signature brand of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, connoisseur-savvy coffee, and sweet sustenance via the city’s best Belgian waffles (something we often crave the morning after a big night out on the town).
A quaint, bistro-styled restaurant replete with old-world charm and Owner Robbie Kane’s determined philosophy of enlightened hospitality, Café Medina loads up patrons’ plates with an eclectic mix of breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch offerings you don’t often see around town.
