Chocolate is our favourite food; afternoon tea is our guilty pleasure. And when we heard that our confectionery hero, Chocolate Arts, had created their own twist on high tea, we immediately made a beeline for their boutique on West 3rd Ave in Vancouver.
The decadent Haute Chocolate service experience features a carafe of your pick of dreamy hot cocoa (from numerous unique options), with the choice of either a housemade marshmallow or whipped cream garnish, an evolving lineup of 4-6 yummy house-made chocolates, pastries, petits fours and pâte de fruits, and a mini-slice of scrumptious banana bread with butter and seasonal jam. Sounds pretty good, right?
What more could we ask for on a relaxing Sunday afternoon than to sip on lip-smackingly good semisweet hot chocolate (crafted from cubes of creamy ganache), poured from our personal cocoa carafe, and gobble up edible delights including a juicy raspberry pâte de fruit, tasty chocolate salami, and divine apple ganache in a chocolate cup? For a mere $15.95 we were flown first-class to indulgence heaven!
The Haute Chocolate service is available from 3pm to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with extended seating times running from 1pm to 5pm on weekends. As seating is limited, reservations are recommended but not required.
