Our palates are fired up at the news that one of Vancouver’s top spots for Italian cuisine is set to welcome a pop of South American flavours to the mix this week with the arrival of famous chef and author Francis Mallman.
Chef Andrew Richardson of CinCin Ristorante will welcome South America’s most famous chef and author of Seven Fires: Grilling the Argentine Way and the more recent, Mallmann on Fire, for several unique culinary experiences at the restaurant’s Robson Street location in downtown Vancouver.
Clear your calendars for Wednesday and Thursday (September 10th and 11th) and be sure to join Chefs Richardson and Mallmann street-side as they conduct Argentinian-inspired cooking demos as a preview to their “Gods of the Grill” themed dinners each night.
Both chefs have collaborated in the kitchen to create and co-host multi-course dinners you definitely don’t want to miss. The first is a five-course wine dinner featuring a collaborative menu that brings Mallmann’s favorite South American dishes to life using BC’s finest regional ingredients and offerings.
Taste your way through South America as Mallmann presents an array of tasty bites with dishes like burnt salmon confit, “Plancha” breads with grilled scallops and avocado and tomato, slow roasted ojo de bife (a.k.a. rib eye), and “Patagonia” potatoes.
To follow this, Thursday evening will feature a four-course tasting menu with dishes like salt-crusted halibut, hanged roasted striped sea bass, and pan roasted gigot of lamb, to name a few options. Choose from by-the-glass and bottle selections of award-winning wines available from CinCin’s extensive, 1,000-label cellar.
Don’t wait to nab yourself a ticket to one or both of these special dinners – seating is limited after all. Contact Restaurant Director Richard Luxton before tickets sell-out.
