Gear up your appetite and get ready to do some serious feasting when the ever-popular Festival Under the Bridge returns mid-month… just in time for some Olympic inspired fun. With over 1,500 people expected to pack this outdoor foodie event we’re definitely willing to overlook our attempt at a diet in favour of this multi-day shindig. Here’s the low-down on this must-attend event that is guaranteed to get you into the Sochi spirit and keep you fed…
Running in conjunction with CMHC’s Winterruption Festival, Edible Canada House will showcase live and pre-recorded Olympic events provided by event sponsor Preston Mobility via multiple giant projection screens. DJs and bands are guaranteed to help set the stage for an all-night party while you cheer on Canada’s top athletes. With a quintessentially Canadian theme to this year’s Edible Canada festivities, you’re guaranteed to see things get a little crazy, eh!
On-site serving up classic Canadian fare at food stations will be Savoury Chef. Expect to nosh on savoury (and sweet) favourites such as bison chili, Alberta beef brisket and maple flapjacks – perfect for late night snacks.
Save room for some brew courtesy of Granville Island Brewing, pouring plenty of seasonal craft beer alongside local wines and spirits. Grab a plateful of comfort food like cheesy perogies and make your way over to Edible’s famous “Garnish Your Own” Caesar bar where you can seriously go all out.
Basically, Edible Canada Founder and CEO, Eric Pateman, plans on making this “one huge party,” saying that “…the Sochi Olympics are the perfect excuse for a bash. We’re inviting the whole city down to cheer on our Olympic hopefuls and relive the party that was 2010!”
Sounds like a plan to us indeed.
Tickets are available online here and start at $20 to $200 (for groups). They include two drink tickets, a food station ticket, access to entertainment and televised events. Edible Canada House will run the entire weekend of February 14th to 16th, into the early morning hours.
