In our books, it’s never too early to start planning ahead when it comes to the social calendar. So when news dropped that a taste of Oktoberfest would be coming to Vancouver, we were pumped. Anything that calls for us to grab our best beer stein and dig out the lederhosen is a clear winner.
Get ready to party when Harvest Haus takes over the town starting October 2nd to October 5th. The first event of its kind in Vancouver, Harvest Haus will transform downtown YVR at Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza into a multi-media mini Münich under the great Halle early next month.
Each four-hour ceremony will trace the history of Northern European harvest festivals from the Middle Ages to the present featuring live performances by character actors, minstrels, acrobats, artisan crafts people, Bavarian brass oompah bands and live DJs to keep you rocking out in your dirndl until the wee hours.
Harvest Haus just announced that sales are set to roll out starting this weekend – so we’re thinking you’ll definitely want to take note and score the intro offers while they last.
Starting from $25-$40 for general admission access and $40-$50 for VIP Bürgermeister tickets you’ll get access to the sights and sounds of Harvest Haus and the ability to feast on authentic Oktoberfest eats alongside Northern European beer at the Marketplatz (Market Place).
Here’s how it works…
Ticket pricing is tiered into two seatings and two tiers”
- General Admission Afternoon Sitting $25 (Friday and Saturday – 12:30pm to 4:30pm)
- Harvest Bürgermeister VIP Afternoon Seating: $40 (Friday and Saturday, 6pm to 10 pm)
- General Admission Evening Seating: $35 (Thursday to Saturday, 6pm to 10pm)
- Harvest Bürgermeister VIP Evening Seating: $50 (Thursday to Saturday, 6pm to 10pm)
- Das Brunch: $25 General Admission, $40 VIP Bürgermeister (Sunday, 11 am to 6 pm)
Our pick: go for the Bürgermeister VIP experience and score reserved longtable seating, access to a separate full-service bar (read: no lines!) and more grub to choose from. Think: German delicacies like Spätzle, Brezen, Bratwürst, Schnitzel and Sauerkraut complimented by a selection of domestic, German and Belgian beers on tap.
