It’s hard to believe that its been a year since Chinatown saw Mamie Taylor’s open up the doors to its regional American restaurant… Well, to celebrate this happy anniversary, owners Ron Oliver and Simon Kaulback are set to host a Southern-themed BBQ Birthday Bash guaranteed to pique your appetite and have you hankering for the full selection of grilled goods.
It all goes down on Sunday, August 10th starting at 5pm and going until late, and guests can tuck into Chef Tobias Grignon’s complimentary, buffet-style Southern pig roast with all the not-so-traditional fixins. That’s right: complimentary.
In addition, Mamie Taylor’s will be pouring drink specials all evening with $3 draft, wine and well specials alongside $5 Mamie Taylor specialty cocktails. What better a way to break in their newly minted patio?
We got the scoop on what to expect to see served up next Sunday as part of the Southern BBQ Menu that’s featuring a tongue-in-cheek ‘Pig de Résistance.’
Here’s what you’ll want to work up an appetite to enjoy: whole, slow-roasted suckling pig with house-made hot sauces, slider buns and crackling accompanied by warm cornbread, as well as biscuits with jalapeno bourbon butter.
They’ll also have: charred local corn and green tomato salad with feta cheese ; macaroni salad with pimento cheese dressing, charred broccoli; black bean and blue corn waffles, jalapenos and honey ; and apple and red cabbage slaw with miso mayo.
