Just in time to help ensure you close out January with a bang, we’ve packed this edition of our Vancouver weekend guide with plenty of great options. Here’s how to squeeze the most out of the next few days…
FUSE
Friday, celebrate the arts by heading to FUSE at the Vancouver Art Gallery. We think it’s the best way to chill out while decked out in your best cocktail attire and taking in the city scene (and squeezing in a little networking while you’re at it). Presented by PuSh, look for this FUSE to be fully loaded with special artist performances – adding to the cool factor. Tickets are only $20.00, so how can you say no?
Dine Out Vancouver Festival
DOVF 2015 winds down this weekend (Sunday), so take advantage of the more than 270 participating restaurants offering amazing prix fixe deals on meals. If you’re in the mood for a more interactive sort of event, we recommend partaking in any one of these options: The Grape Debate (Friday), Saturday’s West End Bruch Crawl, or the final Best Bites of the East Village (Sunday). Also, check out Vv Magazine’s top budget and fine dining picks from Dine Out Vancouver Festival 2015.
The Cultch Gallery
Check out The Cultch Gallery and take in their latest exhibit featuring the art work of Jeannette Sirois titled, “Beyond Real: Overexposed Underexposed.” Sirois uses graphite and coloured pencils to create awe-inspiring massive portraits that draw out highly-emotional ties to everyday world issues like gender, family, racism, and more. It’s a must see (and it’s free).
The Arts Club
Grab tickets to the newest production unleashed by The Arts Club that’s already garnering great buzz around town, “One Man, Two Guvnors,” this weekend. We checked it out opening night and loved the hilarious Brit-style banter exchanged between performers. Guaranteed you’ll be on the edge of your seat laughing.
Winter Farmers Market
We’re all about supporting local – so use Saturday afternoon as a way to do just that and make your way over to the Winter Farmers Market at Nat Bailey Stadium. Meander your way through row upon row of freshly baked and prepared goods. Be sure to also grab a bite, enjoy locally-roasted coffee, and stock up on seasonal produce.
Super Bowl XLIX
Take Sunday afternoon off and get ready to settle down to watch the Super Bowl XLIX. Need inspiration? Be sure to check out our rundown of best places to catch the big game around Vancouver and get ready for a nail-biter…
