Here’s your weekly rundown of all things Vantastic this weekend…
Tonight, it’s all about the Face of Today 5th Annual Gala that is set to see all Vancouver’s pretty people punk it up and head down to the Rosewood Hotel Georgia for a night of fun + fundraising. The event will feature a silent and live auction, open bar, plenty of beats to help you get your groove on, and more. So if you’ve been waiting for a chance to splurge on a pair of spiked heels here it is!
If you want to keep the party going, head to Cabana Lounge on Friday night and catch DJ Adriano for their Nikki Beach ‘Meet Me in St. Tropez’ themed party. Sponsored by Ketel One Vodka, it’s guaranteed to have you dancing until the wee hours. This club is one of the city’s best hot spots featuring a unique and chic design, plenty of beautiful people, top-notch cocktails, and great music. Get on the list and learn more here.
Gear up and get ready for 9 days of Irish-inspired festivities as the 10th Annual CelticFest takes Vancouver by storm starting this Saturday. With events popping up at various venues around the city, take your pick from plenty of offerings starting with The Irish Edge (Rickshaw Theatre), a Whiskey Kiss Scotch-Tasting, Ceili’s Kitchen Party, and the CelticFest Ceilidh at the Vancouver FanClub. It all leads towards the grand finale: the biggest St. Patrick’s Day parade in Vancouver yet.
In keeping with our theme of dancing the night away this weekend, it’s also befitting to mention that Friday marks the start of nearly two weeks of celebrating just that: dancing. The Vancouver International Dance Festival literally kicks things off (on stage) with dance artists from Spain, the United States, China, Germany and beyond performing at various venues. Catch the Kokoro Dance team at the Roundhouse, head to The Playhouse to see Guangdong Modern Dance Company from China with the Goh Ballet, and more.
Finally, given the forecast is looking a bit gray and somewhat soggy for the weekend, have fun indoors at The Outdoor Adventure Show. Taking place all weekend, you can score plenty of trip-planning ideas, the latest adventure gear, test out kayaks, bikes and more all under one dry roof: the Vancouver Convention Centre. With more than 200 different exhibitors on-site, you’ll find plenty of outdoor inspiration for those sundrenched-days that we promise are just around the corner.
