Your weekly rundown of what’s hot-to-trot in Vancouver…
Head to Portobello West and get ready to load up on crafty-goods courtesy of some of the city’s top artisans. This awesome event always draws a great crowd, features an array of stylish handmade finds, sweets and baked goods, artwork and clothing, as well as accessories. Enjoy live entertainment and the chance to stock up on a few decorative things for home, get your garden started, and support a sense of community entrepreneurship while you’re at it.
Check out the Winter Farmers Market at Nat Bailey Stadium and get your fix of fresh produce, specialty items and more. With hundreds of vendors on site at this popular outdoor market (open rain or shine), you’ll fill up more than a few reusable bags worth of farm-fresh goodies.
In keeping with the market theme, head over to the Eastside Flea Market, also taking place this Saturday at the Wise Hall. Once there, you’ll have the chance to peruse more than 40 different vendor booths, meet local artists, sample items and pick up quality vintage items, handmade candy, antiques, baked goods and pretty much everything in between.
If you haven’t had the chance to check out one of the many ongoing performances as part of the Vancouver International Dance Festival, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to do so. On until March 29th, there are plenty of shows to choose from featuring worldwide and local talent. It’s a lot of fancy footwork to take in – but so enthralling. Check out this weekend’s schedule and grab tickets.
Until Sunday you can catch some catwalk action at Vancouver Fashion Week. Score seats to one of the many shows and check out the stylings of international creatives representing their global brands on the runway. You’ll also get the style scoop on emerging talent from local designers like Evan Clayton and more.
Head to the recently opened Cinara Restaurant (located at 350 West Pender Street) and get ready to tuck into contemporary European comfort food with a distinct Italian twist. This cozy little wine bar is the perfect place to head to for a culinary fix on a rainy Vancouver day.
