Let out your inner Nerd at this new Nerd Bar on Church St
Secret passageways and themed floors? Check. Catacombs with bubbling cocktails? Check. Known as Toronto’s geekiest bar, this place pays homage to a variety of fantasy and fiction series.
The Eats
Guests are greeted to a delicious menu by Executive Chef, Dwayne Dillable. We had the opportunity to enjoy two appetizers, the soup, the prime rib, and a burger. We sampled the yummy Chickpea Fries to start. If you love a good soup, the French Onion Soup is amazing. Cheesy, with gravy and croutons, what more could you ask for?
The Pickle Brick Morties Platter turned out to be a good selection as well. For the main course, we tried the Prime Rib and Dungeon Burger. The Prime Rib portion was generous and flavourful. If you like games and food, try the Dungeon Burger. With this one, you have a chance to let the dice decide your burger’s fate. The toppings on your burger are decided based on what you roll! The Butterscotch Butler Pot de Creme was our pick for the dessert, and should be yours too!

The Drinks
The creatively titled drinks all have a reference to multiple sci-fi and fantasy series. Each one has a unique appearance and presentation. We decided to try out the Dark Side Bowl, Mezterio (a Negroni with Mezcal), Release the Kraken (a play on a Dark n Stormy) and a Romulan Ale (a Vodka Lemonade). The longest lasting dry ice drinks we’ve ever seen — and the sharable drinks are quite large. These drinks will take you into another world if you know what I mean.
The Looks
A visit to Storm Cow isn’t complete without a tour of the manor. With a fantasy world around each corner, including a haunted basement, this won’t be one boring house tour. The decor everywhere is covered with intricate details and the space provides a warm and cozy atmosphere. The staff is not only knowledgeable but friendly as well (and they don’t nerd shame you.) It’s worth noting that the gender-fluid bathrooms are custom designed and complete with fandom references too.
The VIBE
The atmosphere is fun and casual but with lots of energy. The manor is also able to accommodate private parties. Storm Crow is family-friendly with a separate kids’ menu. However, unattended kids may be fed to the squid! Storm Crow Manor attracts a diverse crowd that’s usually younger but there is a good mix overall. It’s a pretty good place for a fun and interesting date night. They are open for lunch from 11 am daily, and stay on till late. You can make a reservation either on the phone or online on their site. If you’re looking for something a little different and want to let your inner nerd loose, then this place is for you!

Overall VIBE
The perfect hotspot for Nerd Bars and gamers alike. Unlike most “gimmicky” spots, the eats and drinks are on point. Perfect for Date Night, Friends Night Out, or even a Family Dinner (beware of the scary rooms).
