Thursday night was star-studded, to say the least. At Soho House, there was a private cast dinner for Wakefield, the new Jennifer Garner and Bryan Cranston film. Later on, downstairs saw the premiere after party for Manchester by the Sea, starring none other than Garner’s estranged brother-in-law, Casey Affleck. In tow with him were co-stars Michelle Williams, Kyle Chandler and producer Matt Damon.
Dinner is served for the cast of Wakefield
The dinner, hosted by Grey Goose Vodka, was served rustic style, where guests helped themselves to a feast of meats, salads and Soho’s signature mac and cheese. Garner looked absolutely breathtaking in a form-fitting, sleeveless Peter Pilotto dress. Of all the celebs that came through for TIFF, she seemed the most natural, easy going and in her element, as she posed for pictures, worked the room, and then sat at the back banquet table to have a bite. In fact, she fit in so well and was so non-fussy that about 20 minutes into the opening cocktails before we all sat down to dinner, I looked over and realized she was right behind me. Stars, they’re just like us – except not at all because once spotted, I couldn’t take my eyes off of her and I couldn’t help but wonder, how do people that look like that and exude such amazing energy actually exist in real life?
Michelle Williams, Casey Affleck, and Matt Damon mingle outdoors
Later on in the evening, I spotted Michelle Williams standing by the main table at the front of the room, in a corner talking shop with Matt Damon and another woman. Michelle was petite and perfect, her platinum short locks catching the dim light as she nodded her head in conversation, dressed in a floral number with thick black combat boots. Near the end of the evening, the pint-size A-lister, co-star Casey Affleck, and producer Matt Damon mingled on the side street patio while servers came around ensuring everyone had their fill of Grey Goose cocktails. The party wrapped around 2am and a group of people were seen heading up the street to hit up Mongrel House before the 4am last call. Bottoms up!
