#EatUpTO is another entry in Toronto’s ever-blossoming food event scene. A li’l different than your par for the course satiation shindig, NOW Magazine’s event combined some of the city’s top restos and pop-ups, food trucks, speakers, and more under the cover (mostly) of 99 Sudbury this past Sunday.
Meant to be a consortium of food, tech, product, and food marketing, #EatUpTO offered the chance for attendees to connect to brands on-site via Nifty Loyalty, listen to panelists discussing the changing food scene, drink a brew from Alexander Kieth’s impressive mobile brewery, discuss wines with Chateau des Charmes, and basically get their complete foodie fix all in one spot.
For us, the noshables were what brought us out on one of the season’s hottest days. CHEESEWERKS cooked up their famed fondue, which despite the blistering heat was a perfect portion of cheesy perfection.

Red Fish delighted our palates with their smoked trout sammie, filled to the brim with the delectable fish that had a texture akin to a thick mousse.
Our fancies were tickled by Hot Bunzz as we dug into the three-cheese and mushroom bun that was equal parts unruly goodness and refined comfort.
La Rivolta’s arancini filled us up right before heading outside to grab a hand-crafted gourmet popsicle from The Pop Stand. The raspberry lemonade was superbly sour, and the coconut was creamy and packed with shredded coconut for a pure flavour.
There’s no doubt #EatUpTO suffered from the success of #TOFoodFest, also on Sunday. But it nevertheless proved that with good food and drink, hungry and thirsty folk will always show up in droves, no matter the size.
