New Music Coming Soon: What to Expect from Toronto Based Singer / Songwriter KIIA

  • Nicholas Daminato-Cicchini
  • August 14, 2021
  • 3 minute read

Over the last couple of years, Toronto artists have been making a lot of headway when it comes to putting our city on the map. While the industry still has a long way to go, Canadian singers have helped Toronto develop a unique sound that is easily recognized by listeners. KIIA is primarily an R&B/pop singer and composer who is just about ready to release his first EP.

What sets him apart from other musicians is his intention to infuse every song he writes with a positive meaning. This has set a great example for other musicians based in Toronto during KIIA’s time as a solo artist. With an upcoming EP titled “Love In Every Language” expected on August 11th, it should be no surprise to hear that KIIA’s self-proclaimed motto is “Music and Love lifts the spirit in any language.” Here is everything you need to know about KIIA’s past and future discography.

KIIA

Originally born in Tehran, KIIA is known by his close friends and family as Kia Ahadi. Relatively new as a solo artist, KIIA has wasted no time in making a name for himself since branching off from his band, Empire Eleven, in 2018. It’s clear that KIIA has been able to quickly transfer his lyrical skills to his solo career. After working with some of the best producers in the game and writing for even larger singers, the hype only builds for KIIA’s EP. Get to know more about KIIA’s music by checking out his SoundCloud below.

Die-hard KIIA fans will know that the beloved singer is always expressing himself in the songs he writes. The photo above originally taken from the music video for KIIA’s song “around the Globe,” showcases an excellent shot of Toronto while the singer conveys his dreams of giving the perfect girl everything she could ask for.

Despite the glamorous portrayal of KIIA’s feelings and the city of Toronto in “Around the Globe,” the talented musician’s song “King of the Night” definitely earns the title of his most meaningful track. Written and dedicated to the singer’s friend Danni who had tragically become a victim of gun violence, KIIA puts all his skills to use on this recent single. The music video is full of different clips of his friend before he passed and even includes audio from the news broadcast making it extremely heartfelt. Beware of the emotional pull this song can have on its listeners.

After listening to KIIA’s previous music, fans can get a pretty good idea of what the singer’s new album is going to sound like. The album title “Love in Every Language” seeks to communicate the idea that love is universal and applicable to all people. With five tracks expected on the EP, and five different love languages in total, I would imagine KIIA is planning to take his fans on an emotional journey of love and positivity.
