Playland – Fright Night
Head out to Playland and challenge yourself to a meander through one of seven different haunted houses as part of Fright Nights. Grab some friends who are sticking around town for the holiday weekend and prepare to be scared sh*tless. This year’s Fright Night features a new haunted house, 13 different rides, and other entertainment.
Turkey Sale in Whistler
Skip town and venture up to Whistler this weekend to take advantage of the annual Turkey Sale. The fun starts today (Friday, October 10) at noon and runs through the weekend. It’s the perfect place to go if you’re pining for a new powder-worthy board or skis for the coming winter sports season.
Farmers Markets
Now’s the time of year when our local farmers markets are hauling in the harvest. Be sure to check out one of several B.C. bazaars setting up shop this weekend and score fresh produce, baked goods, and sweet treats in time for your Thanksgiving feast. Your best bets are Trout Lake Farmers Market, West End Farmers Market, and the Mount Pleasant Farmers Market.
Oktoberfest
It’s still Oktoberfest! Break out the dirndl once more for a night of beer drinking at the Vancouver Alpen Club’s annual Oktoberfest party. On Friday and Saturday night through next weekend, they’ve got some great international DJ talent, Bavarian beer, bites, and entertainment.
