Spring is right around the corner, and we all know what that means. Some sun, warmer days and spring cleaning! There may be a lot of things lying around that we don’t need anymore, including furniture. Being able to donate your used furniture gives you the chance to get it to someone who needs it. Besides, you don’t actually want to throw away a perfectly good, working table or couch, right?
Luckily, Toronto has quite a few places that where you can donate your used furniture.
Habitat for Humanity
This is a non-profit organization that aims to provide safe and affordable housing. You can hand off your furniture to any of their Habitat Restore locations right here in the city. They have spaces in Studio District, East York, Etobicoke and North York.
Furniture Bank
They are a registered charity that collects used furniture and housewares. You can request for a pick-up by filling out an online form or you can even drop things off at their Etobicoke warehouse.
Value Village
In addition to clothing items, Value Village also accepts pieces of furniture. They have multiple stores and locations all over the city which you can donate to directly.
Just Junk
Do you have a lot of furniture and clutter lying around that needs to be gone? Just Junk specializes in furniture removal services. They then donate the items to local charities or have it recycled, if needed. Their pricing depends on the volume of furniture that needs to be removed.
Salvation Army
They accept donations for a number of used items, including furniture. You can drop off small pieces of furniture at a Donor Welcome Centre or at a Drop Bin at you nearest location.
