The second annual Toronto’s Hottest Chef just kicked off voting, and now you have the chance to help crown the most muy caliente of our culinary scene…
It may sound like a vanity contest, but Toronto’s Hottest Chef – which is organized by Stella Yu of Food Junkie Chronicles and Kristina Chau of Not Your Average Party – is actually an amazing charitable endeavour that, yes, while pitting the “looks” of the city’s chefs against each other, actually raises a ton of cash for worthy causes. Each chef/contestant chooses a charity that, if they win, will be the lucky recipient of all the prize money raised throughout the event.
Contestants range from The Samuel J. Moore’s Alexandra Feswick to Bri Smith of Home of the Brave to Jordan Caverly, Chef de Partie at Cafe Boulud. Voting in the first round runs through to Sunday, October 6th, while the semi-finals’ vote will run from Wednesday, October 9th through to Sunday, October 13th. The final 8 chefs will compete at the live finale at The Great Hall on Wednesday, October 30th.
Last year, Joanne Lusted won top prize at The Drake Hotel during the final showdown of cooks. Who will claim top spot during the 2013 edition? You’ll have to vote to find out…
