Who doesn’t love an excuse to squeeze in a little pampering? When we were invited by the Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Pacific Rim to try out their new spa treatments, we jumped at the chance.
You’ll find the Willow Stream Spa on the fifth floor of this hip and uber stylish downtown hotel – which is somewhat of an urban oasis unto itself that offers up breathtaking views, serene lounges, and top-notch treatment rooms.
Upon entry we could feel an instant sense of serenity wash over us. After being formally welcomed to the Willow Stream Spa and receiving a tour of the facilities, we were invited to change into plush robes and take a moment to relax in the lounge, meditation pods, or on the large outdoor terrace.
Willow Stream has revamped its spa menu and created a simple system to help guests choose their perfect spa experience. Each treatment has been designed to highlight the locale where they are situated, and have been created with a focus on the following three categories: relieve, perfect for relieving everyday pressures; restore, which focuses on recovery and rebalancing; and results, which are therapeutic in style and help with things like detoxification and ant-aging. We chose a “restore” treatment: the 60-minute Energy Deep Cleanse Restore Facial.
Using Kerstin Florian products, our skin was first cleansed, followed by a 30 percent Multi-Acid peel applied, extractions done, and a sleep-inducing massage provided (our fave part!). Next up, a nutrient-rich masque was applied, followed by 20-minutes of K-Lift Firming which combines three non-invasive, anti-aging technologies: red LED light therapy (light energy), impulse micro-currents (kinetic energy), and transdermal delivery. As you can imagine, subsequent to these facials, our skin looked and felt radiant.
To complete the Willow Stream Spa experience, we returned to the lounge and tucked into a special spa lunch (delicious spicy vegan corn chowder with caramelized onion, jalapeño, lime and cilantro, and fresh fruit salad). Guests looking for something a little more substantial can choose from a selection of salads, the popular sushi and sashimi platter, bento box, or muesli, yogurt, and strawberry rhubarb compote parfait, to name a few.
Post lunch, we made our way out to the deck and hopped into the private Jacuzzi for a bit before checking out the infrared sauna and, sadly, eventually making our way home.
All told, the Willow Stream Spa is a definite must-do on our list.
