It’s back again for its sixth consecutive year! And it launched last night in a quaint yet vibrant pop-up shop; Café Clicquotin. Located at the heart of Beaconsfield Village – 146 Ossington Ave (Ossington and Bloor). If you are a lover of champagne but have never experienced it, #Yelloweek is certainly something you do not want to miss. It’s four days packed with activities for everyone.

I have always been particularly fond of Veuve Clicquot Rose. Delicious, refreshing and bit on the drier side. But I had the delight of trying Veuve Clicquot RICH (which also comes in a rose varietal). Served in a large goblet over ice, it was the perfect welcoming beverage after a hot today bouncing about the city. Wonderful citrus and floral notes super easy and approachable. A few garnish suggestions were cucumbers, citrus zest and even sweet peppers. I opted for the pineapple.

Of course, I have to mention the delectable pairings courtesy of Toronto’s very own Food Dudes. I arrived early so I was able to taste in peace but within an hour guest started swarming the food truck. Some of my favourites were the grilled cheese. This is not your momma’s processed cheese slice grilled cheese, we are talking about. It’s Quebec brie, grana pandano, compound butter, smoked ham on brioche. The roasted vegetable tartine with the balsamic glaze was fantastic. But my absolute favourite and I without an ounce of shame, will admit to having more than my fair share is the cured albacore tuna. Served on a smoked baby potato, tomato shallot jam, olives, cured egg yolk and frizzled onions!! GAWD!
