Whether you’re in your lazy pants marathoning your go-to series of the moment on Netflix, or counting down the days for your fave TV show to pick back up, there’s no doubt you can’t help but get caught up in the love lives of the small screens’ leading ladies.
We hit up Twitter to find out whose dating shenanigans you love watching the most – for better or for worse – and have selected the top 3 most popular responses. Here is an analysis of what their dating style is and tips of what we can learn from them when it comes to rules of the heart…
Dr. Mindy Lahiri of The Mindy Project
Dating Style: Protective to her own demise. Though everyone’s fave OBGYN borderlines on sharing TMI way too soon when it comes to men, she is so relatable because she goes through all the situations and concerns we do when it comes to texting, one-night stands, and trying to date in a social media ridden world. Her downfall is she puts on a protective wall (which pushes her partners away) due to her fear of getting hurt.

What We Can Learn: As viewers we can see just how admired she is by her love interests, but she goes into total self-destruction mode because she has been so disappointed by men in the past that she expects the worst from them. Don’t let your imagination get the best of you and, instead, take your man for his word. He wouldn’t be spending time with you if wasn’t interested, so give him the benefit of the doubt and take the relationship one day at a time. If he breaks your heart in the end, it’s better than wondering what if… You deserve the attention and affection so enjoy it in the moment and the second you start doubting his interest, drop that thought and just “be.”
Khloe Kardashian of Keeping up with the Kardashians
Dating Style: Puts her best face forward.
What We Can Learn: Khloe is in midst of a very public divorce and yet, despite the headlines of her estranged husband getting caught in a cheating and drug scandal, she didn’t sit back and hide from the paparazzi; she didn’t stay in bed and let go of her commitments. Instead she got dressed, got out, and put her best face forward. She opened up about the demise of the relationship and never trash-talked her ex but made the decision to move forward. If you’re going through a breakup or a loss, it’s easy to want to shut out the world, but the best way to get over it and move on is to focus on all the good in your life and to keep busy. Lose yourself in healthy habits such as work, hanging out with your support network of family and friends, and – even on your most pissed off days – don’t speak ill of your ex or your situation, especially on social media. Always take the high road. You’ll be grateful in hindsight.

Jess of The New Girl
Dating Style: Naïve, quirky, playful, but always herself. Zooey Deschanel always plays similar characters and us ladies always fan-girl over her because she owns her quirks, making her uber endearing. She’s authentic, honest, and her nature is attractive to others because she owns her personality.
What We Can Learn: Be yourself. We get so caught up in acting in ways that we think are expected of us; ways that we think will help us “get the guy.” But men are attracted to girls who are confident and can be themselves and roll with the punches. The right guy will love you because of those quirks and unique characteristics that make you that awesome-yet-goofy girl you are. Own it. When you let go of the ideas of how you should look and how you should act, people become attracted to you… for you.
