Vv Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Amanda Phuong, hit up Field Trip Music Festival for a day of sun, music and fun. Between the attendees, art installations, pop-up booths, food trucks and musicians, she captured 36 must-see photos from Day 1 of Field Trip.
Day 1 of Field Trip, Toronto’s most fashionable downtown music festival, has come and gone. Artists like The National, Jazz Cartier, Boy and Bear, Brave Shores and Santigold, played over two stages at the Fort York & Garrison Common and filled the crowd with festival goers of all ages (including some really cute kids!). On the scene from Toronto’s culinary community were restaurants like The County General, Heirloom Food Truck, Buster’s Sea Cove, Caplansky’s and more, while drinks were flowing from the cash bar, Heineken and Strongbow booths. The sun was shining and the afternoon crowd was full of stylish guys and gals wearing the perfect amount of sunscreen on pink shoulders.
Day 2 saw cloudy skies, muddy grounds and weather warnings. After opening for a few hours, the outdoor music festival was temporarily put on hold due to extreme weather conditions – a smart call considering just a day before, 71 people were injured in a lightning accident at a music festival in Germany. While many Field Trip goers expressed their anger and frustration via social media, the organizers of Field Trip kept it cool and had the Government extend the noise permit and organized a new schedule, ensuring our favorite headliners (cough, cough, Robyn,) were not missed.
