Toronto’s musical theater scene is booming with a variety of fantastic shows both now and in the upcoming months. Here’s what you need to know about the Potted Potter comedy show
The London’s West End hit performance titled Potted Potter: The Unauthorized Harry Experience – A Parody by Dan and Jeff is making a return to The 6ix. It previously made an appearance in 2012, 2016 and 2018. For the next run in Toronto, the show is taking place from December 2023 to January 2024.
The show was created by two-time Olivier Award–nominated BBC Television actors Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner. The show toured across different parts of the world including North America, the United Kingdom, Singapore and others.

This live production, inspired by the Harry Potter series of books, narrates the story of, “The Boy Who Lived,” in 70 comedic minutes. Yep, the plot and key points from all seven books. And no, you don’t need to know the ins and outs of the series or be a Potterhead to check it out.
The idea for the production was born in 2005 when Dan and Jeff were asked to create a five-minute street show for the story of the first five Harry Potter books.
This edition of the Potted Potter will have an all-female cast, with Lottie Bell, and Josephine Starte. The Associate Director for the production is Hanna Berrigan. The show comes complete with all the props and vibes, and a live Quidditch match as well.
