Toronto has seen its fair share of one-of-a-kind pop-ups. But this is going to be the first one with a dedicated rude staff that’s guaranteed to have no manners while serving. I’m of course talking about the Karen’s Diner experience. If the name didn’t give it away already, it’s a concept based on the “Karen,” stereotype that has taken the meme world by storm.

There are inconsiderate servers and then there are the servers at Karen’s Diner. I’m talking “menus will be thrown on the floor for you to pick up” kind of behaviour. They have permanent locations across Australia, the US and the UK. “We pride ourselves on our terrible service, rated 1* by Karen herself!” says the official event description.
As for the food, it’s classic American-style dining with burgers, wings, fries, milkshakes and other beverages. Tickets for the experience are priced at $45 and the pop-up is from April 22-30.

Fun fact: According to the website, the restaurant offers a free drink to those whose names are Karen. They have to show their ID and that’s it! Karen’s Diner in Toronto will be located at 1792 Danforth Avenue and tickets can be booked via HIDDEN.
