Taco Fest makes it’s annual return this weekend–August 9-11!
Known to be among the biggest taco events in The 6ix, Taco Fest in Toronto is returning for another year in August. In addition to the extensive varieties of tacos, visitors will also get to enjoy several off-menu items and limited edition restaurant collabs.
Other Mexican delights will be featured as well, like fresh guacamole, Mexican street corn and piping-hot churros. Oh, and if all that wasn’t enough for all you foodies out there, here’s something else: Canada’s largest hot sauce bar. Yes, the taco festival will offer over 250 hot sauce flavours, making for the perfect pairing to go with your tacos.

What’s going down at Taco Fest this year?
For the 8th annual fiesta, Taste Toronto has assembled a vendor lineup featuring over 45 of the city’s finest restaurants, offering more than 250 different tacos, including both traditional Mexican dishes and creative twists on the classics. As a special treat for Taco Fest, some vendors are serving exclusive off-menu items available only at the event. Notable dishes to try include:
- Booyah – Ice Cream Taco
Freshly made ice cream served in a waffle cone shell, topped with whipped cream, chocolate or caramel sauce, and either crushed Oreos or sprinkles. - Dope as Duck – Flamin’ Hot Cheetos Mexican-Style Street Corn
Grilled corn coated in creamy mayo and encrusted with crunchy Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, adding a fiery twist to the classic. - Dos Tacos – Taco Like a Mac
A smash burger-inspired taco featuring melted cheddar, Mac sauce, shredded iceberg lettuce, diced onions, and pickles. - El Trompo – Al Pastor Taco
Marinated pork with pineapple chunks, fresh onion, and cilantro, all wrapped in a beetroot tortilla. - Heirloom – Hot & Honey Fried Chicken Taco
Crispy fried chicken drizzled with hot and honey sauce, served with creamy slaw, pickled cucumber, and aioli. - Hielito Bits – La Piña
A fruit slushy served in a pineapple, with flavors like Piña Colada or Pineapple Mango. - Jarocho Mexican Cuisine – Golden Crispy Potato Tacos
Three fried tortillas stuffed with savory potato, topped with lettuce, sour cream, and melted cheese. - King Catering – Jerk Chicken Tacos
Spicy jerk chicken paired with coleslaw, chili aioli, coconut garlic sauce, and green onions in a soft tortilla. - Kong’s Hot Tacos – The Bulgogi King Taco (Award-Winning)
BBQ ribeye with fried kimchi, red pepper aioli, iceberg lettuce, shallots, onions, and cilantro in a flour tortilla.
On the event’s final day, attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the city’s “Best Taco.” The winning restaurant will be awarded the prestigious golden taco trophy, along with ultimate taco bragging rights.
You can also try 32 tequilas, ranging from smooth to smokey at the festival. Not to mention, a mix of margaritas, palomas and other specialty cocktails.
Come for the food, stay for the other experiences. This includes salsa dancing lessons, live authentic mariachi bands, the Wholesale Club Guac School, and the ‘Jarritos Chill Zone.’

If there’s a taco that you love and think that it deserves all the spotlight, then you’ll get a chance to cast a vote for it. The winning restaurant of Toronto’s “Best Taco” will receive a giant, taco-shaped trophy.
