Matt Basile vows he will never helm a restaurant again. He made waves in the Toronto food scene as the man behind Fidel Gastro’s, a local street food sensation, the host of Rebel Without A Kitchen and a regular guest on Global Morning and Breakfast Television. But, now, his latest project takes his culinary expertise to a whole new venue: the great outdoors. The Alchemy Grill rethinks the concept of cooking outdoors, offering an innovative way to grill, smoke and fire everything foodies can dream of.

About the Alchemy Grill
Designed with innovation in mind, the Alchemy Grill has a smoker on the bottom, intended for slow-cooking meats and vegetables. It also has a plancha and a diamond grill on top, both of which revolve around a central fire that cooks each ingredient and kisses it with a smoky flavour. It’s powered entirely by wood and charcoal and is uniquely designed to complete every culinary task–from smoking to searing to grilling–at the same time. Everything from vegetarian dishes like grilled zucchini and squash puree to smoked ribs to eggs and toast has space on the Alchemy, which can cook enough for a whole party of people. It’s the perfect solution for big summer parties.

Basile partnered with Toronto-based entrepreneurs to create the Alchemy Grill, which officially launches this Sunday, May 21. Ahead of its official launch, Basile and his partners launched a farm-to-table dinner series in Stouffville, where guests can take in a five-course meal prepared by Basile on the Alchemy Grill, and enjoyed it on gorgeous farm grounds. They also offer recipes and tips online, from Instagram to YouTube to the website, that can maximize the grilling experience.
