Thomas Tullo had a vision. He wanted to combine his experience in treatment facilities with his experience in high-end hotel spas to create a space that offers both tangible, healing results and a relaxing and luxurious experience. And his vision became a reality when he opened Aman Spa on July 1st in one of the cutest neighbourhoods in the city. His services combine his expertise as an RMT with a menu of skincare offerings that’s sure to leave visitors glowing.

“My approach to treatment is client-focused and wellness-driven above all else,” Tullo says. “It’s important to me that my clients understand the treatments they’re receiving. This way, they also understand the long-term physical and psychological benefits that taking care of oneself through treatment will ultimately have. Full transparency, and always looking inward as a first in treatment.”
Tullo’s spa offers an array of massages that vary in length but are all individualized based on needs and desires. For example, head massages and foot massages are offered in 30-minute segments that are perfect for career people who want to visit Aman on lunch breaks or after work. He also developed a facial massage that promotes relaxation and tightens and improves the look of the skin on the face in a non-invasive way. And, the menu of facials includes ingredients and products developed by luxury skincare brand 111Skin, and Tullo and the team mix and match treatment options and ingredients based on the skin’s individual needs.

Aman is best known for its 3-in-1 facial, which includes a facial massage, cryotherapy and a facial using products from 111Skin. The idea, Tullo says, is to use touch–a sensation lost in the pandemic–to promote healing and manipulate the nervous system into functioning better.
And, the space is designed with serenity and peace in mind, with Middle Eastern desert hues and soft lighting and decor that is both intentional and calming. Some treatment rooms even have exposed brick to pay homage to the historical space that Aman Spa is housed in.
“The colour palette of the spa echoes this feeling in its soft, natural and ethereal finishes; it’s comforting, warm and safe,” Tullo says. “The word ‘Aman’, which I discovered when listening to a song while I was travelling, means safety, trust, protection and tranquillity in Arabic.”
