Get to know the bourbon
On the nose, Angel’s Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Port Wine Barrels presents subtle notes of vanilla, paired with raisins, maple syrup and toasted nuts. On the palate, it offers notes of vanilla, ripe fruit, maple syrup, toast and bitter chocolate before it finishes with a clean and lingering sweetness, coupled with a hint of Madeira that slowly fades.

About Angel’s Envy
The company opened Brand Home, the first full-production whiskey distillery in Louisville, in 2016, and has been an innovator in the spirits space since, producing whiskeys that are typically aged for four to six years in new, charred white oak barrels. The spirits are then blended to meet the ideal flavour profile, and then finished for up to six additional months in port barrels sourced from Portugal, and then blended again to perfect the flavour.
“The Louisville-based distiller is known for its diligent process with every batch blended to taste to create an award-winning whiskey,” reads a press release. “It was also among the first American whiskey producers to employ a secondary finishing process broadly across its portfolio and it continues to be a leader in this space.”
Angel’s Envy was co-founded in 2010 by the late master distiller Lincoln Henderson and his son, Wes Henderson. The pair started the distillery as a passion project, combining the family’s deep passion and knowledge with a unique outlook on bourbon making and finishing. Core offerings include a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Finished in Port Wine Barrels, as well as a Rye Whiskey Finished in Caribbean Rum Casks. The duo are also behind several unique special releases, available in short runs.
