Summer finally seems to be showing its face around these parts, and we couldn’t be happier. The unfortunate side effect of this long-awaited resurgence is the often inevitable appearance of oily skin. Most of us have combination skin, meaning some areas of skin are oilier or drier than others. As such, most of the oil resides in the T-zone – the area that extends above the brow bone, down the nose to the chin.
Fear not, friends. Thanks to the wealth of effective (and affordable) products on the market, the oil-induced suffering will be short-lived. Take a peek at these #BeautyOnABudget products that keep the oil at bay…
DermaControl by Cetaphil, Prices Vary
I swear by this face wash/lotion duo. Cetaphil products are non-scented, meaning no perfumes or additives are present to irritate the skin. The face wash is light, and unlike many other products does not leave a residue.

Neutrogena Deep Clean Long-Lasting Shine Control Blotting Sheets, $6.49
With a name that long, you know this product must be effective. While preventative action is important, we all know that things can get crazy when you’re on the go. Having a pack of these in your bag to minimize oily areas is your best line of defense. Dramatic face-washing not required.
Secret Budget Tip: In a pinch (or if you happen to be a baker) parchment paper can also work wonders as a makeshift oil blotter.
Maybelline New York Shine Free Oil Control Loose Powder, $6
Full disclosure: I’m not the biggest fan of foundation, especially when the temperature starts to rise. In the event I’m looking for a bit of light coverage, I’ll apply a bit of concealer and set it with loose powder. This affordable option does double duty, offering light coverage while working to minimize the appearance of oily skin.

ELF Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, $3
This product line is a budget beauty girl’s dream. Although many swear by the Urban Decay iteration, this primer does the job for a fraction of the price. Primer not only helps to make eye shadow pigment more pronounced, it also prevents oily eyelids from interfering with your makeup look.
