A couple of Toronto’s beer festivals have already been tapped for the 2014 docket. Others, like the Hart House Craft Beer Festival, are already sold out. But don’t worry hopheads, there are plenty more a-pouring! Every year new events are popping up, and while it may appear that there’s only so much scape in the market, realistically, if you pour beer the people will come.
Here’s a roundup of the craft beer festivals that are coming to Toronto post-Canada Day and onward…
Craft Beer Passport
May 21st to November 30th
Not a one-off event, but a notable offering for craft beer lovers. The $20 passport allows holders to purchase their first glass of craft beer for only $2 at 20 bars across the city.

Summer Craft Beer Fest
July 10th
Liberty Village is getting a swank event that they hope will cool you down on a hot summer night. The organizers have been fairly tight lipped about the vendors this year, but as you stroll about the Liberty Market Building with your cup of suds in hand there will be a host of samplings and great sales from the local merchants at this pay-as-you-go event.
Toronto’s Festival of Beer
July 25th to 27th
The biggest of Toronto’s beer bashes, Toronto’s Festival of Beer will host over 300 brands of craft and conglomerate beverage makers. Bandshell Park, Exhibition Place will provide a venue for thousands of hopped up attendees, many of whom are so eager that Saturday tickets are already sold out. Diverse pavilions such as the World of Beer Pavilion, Indie88 New Brews, and some insightful T.F.O.B. Trails (guided tours through Women’s Beer, Extreme Beer, Cider and Gluten Free) will add to the lineup of food and top tier live music.

Session Muskoka
August 2nd
Here, $25 gets you entrance and five beer tokens at the Bracebridge brew fest. So far 15 craft breweries and two wineries have been announced, and food and entertainment providers are soon to come. If you get drunk up at the cottage and forget to buy your tickets in advance, you can get them at the door for $30. Additional samples are a buck.
The Roundhouse Craft Beer Festival
August 9th and 10th
Details are scant for the second instalment of this outdoor event, but if last year was any indication it should be a priority for any golden beverage lovers. The relaxed atmosphere of Roundhouse Park, a couple picnic blankets, and entry that provides you with a beer glass to be used on both days might make this one a perennial winner… provided the format stays the same.
Premium Beer Experience
September 11th
Tickets have yet to go on sale for this festival of sophisticated suds, brought to you by the creators of the Toronto Wine & Spirits Festival and the Conscious Food Festival. Each brewer will be bringing a brand new brew that’s never hit the shelves to the Berkeley Church/Field House. Inside the event, 4oz samples will cost a dollar and food from the Berkeley Church kitchen will range from $2 to $4.
Toronto Craft Brew Cruise
September 13th
Part of Toronto Beer Week (September 12th to 20th), this aquatic adventure aboard The River Gambler on the Harbourfront will feature 12 of Ontario’s finest craft brewers. There are two sessions available, and $39.95 tickets will get you five sample tokens and a commemorative mug… plus the free possibility of motion sickness.
