Though we’ve been talking about it incessantly around the office, if you haven’t already heard, we figured you might as well get informed… Bellwoods Brewery, you know, that wicked micro-craft-brewery on Ossington, has finally rolled out a full-scale menu. After getting by with a small (albeit great) selection of meats, cheeses and plates using just a conventional home stove, they’ve renovated their kitchen in order to accommodate their hefty appetite for all things fried and flavourful. Sourcing their produce from small farm collectives throughout the Kawarthas, their meats from Sanagan’s and seafood from Hooked, Bellwoods will be bringing added edible bravado alongside their stellar lineup of house brews.
Some of my favourites from their previous menu remain, such as the fresh bread from Woodlot, and duck hearts with charred jalapeno oil. New dishes like deep fried pork belly and clams, and short ribs with shiitake slaw and pickled potatoes have already got my salivary glands going.
