If you’re anything like me, it’s last minute plans and frantic “Let’s do this, it’ll be fun guys!” If you and your friend group just can’t get anything together unless it’s at the very last second, then here’s the ultimate guide to your Canada Day long weekend. Whether you’re spending it in Toronto, or up at the cottage, we’ve got the best things to do to celebrate Canada this weekend.

Harbourfront Centre
The Canada Day Weekend at Harbourfront Centre event is on starting this Friday, June 28th and goes all the way until Monday, July 1st. It’s absolutely free to attend, so no need to worry about any pricey tickets this time. Spend the day listening to artists like Gavin McLeod and Danny Michel on Saturday to kick off the best Canada Day weekend ever.
TD Toronto Jazz Festival
If you haven’t already hit up Yorkville’s Jazz Fest, you have until the 30th to enjoy the smooth music and peruse all the good food and drinks. The festival is absolutely free so you’re welcome to swing on by. Keep a lookout for one of the ViewtheVIBE team members — we can’t help strolling through the festival when it’s in our own backyard!
Humber Bay Fireworks
Okay, you could probably drink beer and watch the fireworks from your backyard, but if you want to step it up, here’s the way to do it. I’m talking late-night bonfires at Humber Bay. With a gorgeous view of the Toronto skyline, you’ll be sure to catch all the beautiful fireworks that the city is putting on. Bring some friends and a couple of cases of beer, find the perfect bonfire spot along the shore — pro tip, arrive early to nab yourself a sweet spot — and enjoy the Canada Day fireworks like a pro!
Cottage Weekend
If you (or your friend) is lucky enough to own a cottage, then Canada Day is the best weekend to get away from the city. With fireworks going on around Bracebridge, Huntsville, Gravenhurst, Coldwater, Orillia, Parry Sound, and Haliburton, wherever your cottage is you’ll be sure to catch a few flames.
