Busan Galmaegi is a new Korean BBQ restaurant that opened in February on Yonge Street, near Finch. This place is owned by Eun Tae Park, who also owns the fried chicken franchise called Chicken in the Kitchen and the BBQ hotspot Daldongnae. Park wanted to bring Torontonians a real Korean dining experience with Busan Galmaegi. This BBQ spot isn’t your average Korean BBQ because they offer three different types of grills over just the usual one. With high-quality meats, friendly service, and rustic decor, this spot will attract everyone looking to try some authentic Korean.
The Eats
Busan Galmaegi focuses on quality meats such as pork belly and rib eye rolls. Your meal also includes complimentary sides such as the popular steamed egg, soybean soup, and other banchan items.
The traditional-looking iron grill is used for raw, unmarinated meats like beef rib finger and short ribs. This type of grill distributes the heat more evenly and allows for more uniform grilling.

The mesh-like gridiron grill is for meats that are marinated. Highly recommended is the galbi beef and the chicken. This gridiron grill allows for more direct flames to hit the meat, which the outside a more caramelized finish.
Their third grill is a round stone grill that is reserved strictly for grilled beef intestine, which is a popular dish of Korea. The three different grills are made for each of the meats that Busan Galmaegi offers so that they are cooked to perfection. The attentive servers help you switch out the right grills so you can try anything you want!
The Looks
Busan Galmaegi has a cozy, woodsy feel that is easy to see from the outside. Before you walk in, the outside is decorated in rustic wooden boards and tin roofing. The inside also has wooden booths with a place for the grill in the middle. While having a rustic feel, it is still clean and modern. The servers are attentive, friendly, and know the best foods to try and the perfect way to cook it!
