Not only are we lucky to call Toronto home because of our diverse food scene but also because the city is FULL of amazing studios offering top-notch yoga classes. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi looking to explore the scene in the city or a newbie looking for the perfect place to begin your practice, we’ve got the place for you.
Practice yoga at one of these studios in Toronto
Sweat and Tonic
Located at Yonge & Shuter, Sweat and Tonic has quickly become Toronto’s premier boutique fitness studio. With three levels including a spin studio, HIIT studio and heated yoga studio plus a co-working space for members, there’s nothing this place can’t do. Their yoga classes vary from power flows to candlelit slow flows and I would personally recommend Angela’s class if you’re looking for an intense class that will deepen your technique, Rachel Fallon’s class if you’re in need of a soothing, connected practice and Rory’s class if you’re looking to feel energized and loved.
Downward Dog
Now this place has a reputation in the city as being the best yoga studio Toronto has to offer and for good reason. If you’re looking for a less commercial studio that really focuses on maintaining the traditional practice, this is the place for you. The practice is taken very seriously at Downward Dog and with their recent makeover, you can’t miss paying the Queen West studio a visit. Pro tip: if you’re looking to practice with the best of the best, you won’t want to miss practicing with Sheldon Shannon.

Jaybird
There’s nothing I don’t love about this studio. As soon as you walk in you immediately feel hugged and welcomed by the space (it even smells amazing!!) and you’re transported inwards during the practice as the lights are off. Founded by a former dancer who was in need of a practice that connected her to her body and out of her mind, she has opened the door for Torontonians to experience true body connection. PS. Be prepared to sweat!
Yoga Tree
Yoga Tree is a Toronto staple and for good reason! With both heated and room temperature classes, this is one of the studios I always recommend to new yogis looking for a class that will teach them the basics. If you’re looking to practice outside during the summer, you’re in luck as this studio offers yoga in the park sessions so keep an eye out for their announcements on IG!
BeHot Yoga
If you’ve never tried a traditional hot yoga class, you need to visit BeHot Yoga! This is a pretty intense studio but if you’re looking to really get into your practice and experience traditional yoga with a focus on mind-body connection, this is your place. Did I mention there’s plenty of room to build on your inversion practice here?
889
889 will always have a special place in my heart. Although all studios are very welcoming in Toronto, there’s just something special and warm about this place! They have a cute little shop where you can purchase some yoga gear or tools to expand your wellness practice and the whole studio just radiates positive vibes at all times. They have plenty of workshops too that can help you expand upon your practice so check out their IG for the latest.
